ABOUT

Dr. Lydia Mwai is a seasoned marketing professional with over 10 years of experience in the industry. She is a Lecturer at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT), where she teaches Marketing and Management courses, and also heads the Marketing Strategy Implementation department at the university. Dr. Mwai holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Nairobi, an MBA in Marketing from Kenyatta University, and a BED (ARTS) from Kenyatta University. She is a committed member of the Marketing Society of Kenya and is passionate about promoting best practices, ethical standards, and social responsibility in marketing. Dr. Mwai is also dedicated to mentoring and training the next generation of marketing professionals.

MANIFESTO

My name is Dr. Lydia Mwai, and I am a Lecturer and Marketing Strategy Consultant with over 10 years of experience in the industry. Currently, I am the Head of Marketing Strategy Implementation at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) and a committed member of the Marketing Society of Kenya.

My manifesto for membership in the Marketing Society of Kenya is rooted in my belief in the transformative power of marketing. As a marketing professional and academic, I have seen firsthand the impact that marketing can have on businesses, consumers, and society as a whole. I believe that marketing is not just about selling products or services but about building relationships with customers, creating value for all stakeholders, and contributing to the greater good.

If elected as a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya, I will work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in marketing. I will leverage my extensive experience in the industry and my academic background to contribute to society’s goals and objectives.

Specifically, I plan to contribute to the Marketing Society of Kenya in the following ways:

  1. Thought leadership and advocacy: As a marketing academic and consultant, I am committed to advancing thought leadership and advocacy in the marketing profession. I will use my expertise to promote best practices, ethical standards, and social responsibility in marketing.
  2. Collaboration and networking: I believe that collaboration and networking are critical to success in marketing. As a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya, I will work to build relationships with other members, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
  3. Mentorship and training: I am passionate about mentoring and training the next generation of marketing professionals. As a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya, I will work to provide mentorship and training opportunities to young marketers and students, helping to build a strong talent pipeline for the future.

I believe that my membership representation in the Marketing Society of Kenya will provide me with a valuable platform to contribute to the advancement of the marketing profession and to collaborate with other like-minded professionals.
