Margaret has over 16 years’ senior management experience in market research having worked Steadman / Synovate / Ipsos in Eastern, Western and Southern Africa (1999-2014). Margaret was awarded “The Marketing Society Warrior” status in (2011). She has also participated in MSK Awards as Chief Judge (2014) and part of the judging panel (2013). Also was a council Member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (2013-2015) and has consecutively appeared on the highly acclaimed list of “Top 40 under 40 women”. She has published and presented a paper on “The challenges of conducting research in Africa” South African Market Research Association (SAMRA) Convention and was awarded the Eddie Shultz award for contributing to the development of research methodologies in Africa. As a council member of the Market and Social Research Association of Kenya (MSRA) she has been instrumental in designing and facilitating an advanced research training course for the market research industry in Kenya. In addition this year, 2017 has seen Maggie has been awarded with the Corporate Executive Personality Award in the SOMA awards.
Muthoni is an accomplished executive with over 12 years domestic and regional experience having begun her career in sales before moving to advertising working for the global agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
She then moved to the corporate sector where she held various senior management positions before starting her own consulting business. Muthoni is a results-oriented and decisive leader who has proven success in implementing innovative game-changing campaigns that have gained industry recognition and awards.
She is passionate about Sustainability Marketing and through her firm, MK-Africa she has undertaken several initiatives to promote sustainability in Africa. Key among these the #MyLittleBigThing Universities Sustainability Innovation Challenge which is a partnership between MK-Africa, KPMG and University of Cambridge, South Africa aimed at promoting youth innovation in developing home-grown solutions to Africa’s sustainability challenges. The competition, targets undergraduate students and aims to develop future sustainability business leaders. 2017, was the inaugural edition of what is scheduled to be an annual competition.
Muthoni is a marketing graduate with a number of post-graduate qualifications including the prestigious Chartered Marketer status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). She has also trained in Business Ethics and Compliance (UN Global Compact) and GRI Reporting and is part of the Sustainable Brands Network in Africa. She has successfully completed the Sustainability Practitioners’ Course as well as the African Sustainability Leadership Program by the University of Cambridge.

She is passionate and result driven, and ambitious strategic leader with the proven commercial acumen and market insight to drive business growth, optimize resources and maximize profitability across a broad range of markets, building motivated and high-performance teams to achieve objectives. Joyce demonstrates extensive experience supporting the planning and delivery of innovative marketing activities, initiatives and brand activations for global brands. Currently she is the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Pevans East Africa that goes by the brand name SportPesa. Joyce leads all marketing teams across 6 markets globally. While here, she has spearheaded the agenda to build the brand through focused partnerships, increased brand visibility and digital innovation. Previously, Joyce was Africa Marketing Manager for the Other Non-Fuel divisions of Vivo Energy in Nairobi, Kenya – the Shell licensee in Africa – driving the marketing strategy for Convenience Retail, Gas and Lubricants across 15 countries and 1500 fuel stations in Africa with 10 direct reports and GBP of 10m budget. While at Vivo, she developed and rolled out an end to-end consumer campaign focusing on sales volumes growth that entailed both above and below the line. Prior to Vivo Energy, Joyce worked at BAT with roles as Head of Strategy Planning Insights – West Africa, Africa & Middle East Regional Head of Consumer Insights – UK, Africa and Middle East Audit Manager – UK, Area Audit Manager – Kenya and Zimbabwe; and Merchandising Manager - Kenya She is also a member of the American Marketing Association, Organization of Women in Trade, Kenya Chapter, Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation UK and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce.

James Njoroge, fondly known as Njoroge The Marketer, is a passionate marketer who shapes opinions and trends in marketing through online platforms and interactions with players in the field.
He heads the Digital Marketing team at Legibra, a leading IT firm with clients like Two Rivers Mall, Centum Group’s Nabo Capital, KEPSA and MRX Media. He is also the Founder of Njoroge The Marketer Consultancy, which has handled clients like Kenyatta University Foundation, Somesha Mwenzako Marathon, Norda Industries, Asimba Consultancy, UNISCOO and Lee Muchiri Campaign Secretariat. Previously, he has served as the Country Manager of Content Exchange, a Content Marketing Executive at Mzoori Limited and the President of the Marketing Society of Kenyatta University.

Carol Wanyama is a well-seasoned media executive, currently serving as Royal Media Services’ Group Head of Corporate Affairs & Content Acquisition.
While at Royal Media Services, Carol has been at the helm in the building of the top media brands in the country today and engraining them into the lifestyles of Kenyans across the East African region and beyond. A recipient of the prestigious ‘Top 40 Under 40 2016’ award, Carol bears a 360 degrees wealth of experience and valuable skills cutting across various aspects of strategic leadership. Her areas of expertise include Strategy, Broadcast Content Management, Product and Brand Development, Research Management, Experiential Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. Having previously worked at The Standard Group, Carol’s hands on experience with leading media companies has given her an extremely unique positioning, an exceptional network, and a clear understanding of the bottom line for the successful running of any organization as a business unit.
Carol is a visionary leader, and serves at various levels, beyond her daily work obligations. She serves as a member of the Advertising Standards Committee (ASC), whose mandate is to provide governance, solve industry disputes and support growth and development of advertising standards across the industry. She is also a member of the oversight committee of the Kenya Audience Research Foundation (KARF) whose mandate is to manage the audience measurement service in Kenya. In addition, Carol serves as a board member of the Daystar University Alumni Association. This is the team responsible for various mandates, including the creation and development of the Alumni vision and strategy.
Carol is a Masters Degree holder in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, as well as an alumnus of Daystar University, for her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration.
Carol is married, with three lovely children. In her free time, Carol enjoys music and singing and is part of the Twakutukuza Trust Choir, which sings to support the fight against cancer. Jane Nzomo is a co-founder of Consumer Options limited, a market research company established in Kenya in 2004 with a track record of working across Africa.
She is a qualitative researcher with 19 years of market research experience across different business sectors. She is a former Chairperson of Kenya’s Marketing and Social Research Association (MSRA) and a member of Africa Market Research Association (AMRA). Jane is also a member of MSK and was awarded the MSK ‘Marketing Society Warrior’ status in 2012. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Leadership.
Alex Masika is a seasoned professional with over 15 years’ experience in marketing, finance, sales, business development, customer relationship management,
logistics and project management. He has previously worked for Chevron Energy, Hass Petroleum, Digital Divide Data, and Google Kenya and is now the Head of Business Development at BRCK Limited, an innovative consumer electronics company based in Kenya and serving over 50 countries. He was a judge at the 2014 MSK Gala Awards. Alex holds an International Business Administration degree from USIU and an MBA from the University of Nairobi.
Leah has over 21 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Relationship Management with
exemplary performance in growth of revenue. She holds MBA (Strategic Management) from USIU, a B Com (Marketing) from JKUAT and Diploma in Banking from Kenya School of Monetary studies. She has supported several organizations in Financial Literacy and Economic Empowerment for example Community Advancement Program Youth Empowerment Institute (CAPYEI), Child & Youth Finance International (School Bank Project), McKinsey Social Initiative (Generations Project), Colombia University & KIPPRA (Impact Assessment Study), PLAN International & Population Council (Adolescent Girls Initiative), CARE Kenya (PCTFI Project/Economic citizenship) and KCA University (25 under 25 entrepreneurs). She has participated in several Marketing and Financial Literacy programs in local radio stations like Kameme FM and Gukena FM. Currently she is the Product Champion in charge of Youth Products, High Net Worth customers and Partnerships at Postbank. She is also a PTA Executive at Murang’a High School.
Billy Etale is a partner at Cedar Marketing, a marketing and communications consulting firm. He is responsible for strategy and business development.
His vision to see a learning, connected and cohesive global marketing movement has seen him serve as the Africa Co-coordinator for the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), the global association for marketing associations and brands. In the capacity, he helped recruit associations into WFA and drive the global marketing agenda across marketing associations on the African continent. His experience includes the editorial lead at the MSK SOKONI magazine, Brandscape Africa and DQS East Africa. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Daystar University.
Eunie has had a career spanning more than 15 years practicing what she loves – Marketing.
Before her current role at IBM, she was the Head of Marketing for Resolution Insurance across East Africa. She has been an Account Director at Ogilvy Advertising and Senior Account Manager at TEQUILA Advertising.
Eunie also sits on the board of Bible Society of Kenya and is the recipient of the 2014 Rising Star Award for the Banking & Financial Services sector.
Helen Wanjiru is the Head of Client Service and Business Development at Professional Marketing Services (PMS) Limited, an award winning and
Helen has several years of senior managerial experience in both corporate and not for profit organisations, with her core strength being coordination and harmonisation of processes as well as business development. She has worked for notable companies such as Mobile Accord Limited, the Federation of Women Entrepreneur Associations, and Tenders Kenya. Acclaimed 360 marketing agency. Helen was recognized by the Business Daily in 2015 as one of the top 40 under 40 women in Kenya for her role in the dissemination of information on procurement opportunities in Kenya.
Kenneth Macharia is the director of resource and business development for
Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (AKU-GSMC). In this role Kenneth builds strategic partnerships and fundraises institutional funding for programs.
Prior to his current role, Kenneth led the East Africa Business Development and Communications function for Acumen Fund, a global impact investment fund headquartered in New York.
Kenneth has over 16 years’ international experience leading new business strategy, corporate communications, marketing strategy execution, social impact investments, and generating in excess of $100M in Africa and the European Union.
Kenneth is an MBA graduate, Chartered Marketer and one of the 2013 Top 100 Most Influential in Business Ethics (globally) as recognized by Ethisphere. He has been on the investment committee for Food Trade East and Sub-Saharan Africa and is currently on the Finance, Remuneration and Audit Committee of the Farm Africa board – a UK based international development firm working across East Africa.
In addition to being a board member, Kenneth also chairs the Charter Committee of the Marketing Society of Kenya board.
Kuya Ayiecha, passionate about building brands through communications and experiences, is currently a management
trainee on the Future Leaders Program at GSK Consumer Healthcare East Africa. She began her career in marketing communications as a Brand Executive at Scanad Africa before her current role.
She seeks to leverage her interests in a distinctive profession that spurs innovation, tackles challenges creatively and ignites hope within her society, and continent at large.
Along with building commercial leadership skills, she champions communications initiatives within her organization, driving up internal engagement. She served as chairperson of the Students’ National Council (MSK) and President of the Marketing Students’ Association at the University of Nairobi, where she attained a Bachelor’s degree (honors) in Commerce- Marketing. She also has a CIM post-graduate diploma in Communications, Advertising and Marketing.
